We stayed at the Illusions Boutique Hotel in Playa Del Carmen, the only thing we could ask is that there could be bedside lamps on the bedside tables to soften the tone of the room rather than relying on the overhead lights.

Misleading Photos -- But that is sales == Description of location - Not accurate. Correct
but not not accurate. Staff was realistic and warm. Breakfast needs work -- Service by your partner (Dona Diabla) was slow and well short of expectations for a classy hotel near the beach. Dona Diablas at night had some excellent food and values to offer.
Liked the Roof -- Sell it more.

VERY CLOSE TO THE BEACH AND A FEW STEPS TO THE 5TH AVE. THE HOTEL IS IN A NICE SPOT.
A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE MY DEPARTURE, A RESTAURANT WAS INAUGURATED AT THE HOTEL SO SOME TIME IF YOU ARE TO TIRE, YOU CAN ORDER TO YOUR ROOM.
ALL THE EMPLOYEES WERE VERY NICE, A GREAT TEAM FORMED BY DON MIGUEL.

Very nice hotel; suited our needs perfectly. Staff is fantastic and very courteous. Pool is very shallow.
Pool area was loud during the day - loud music from the bar, and there was construction going on across the street which was VERY noisy.

I was worried about what a Boutique hotel in mexico would be but was pleasantly surprised. The Illusion is remoldeled and very clean.

We loved the location of this hotel. It was spotless and maintained very well throughout the property. The office staff was very friendly and gave us many suggestions for good restaurants. The breakfast was very moderate but was enough to start our day with fresh juices and home made sweet breads each morning. My only complaint would be around 3:00 everyday the bartender would open the bar (near the pool, on 4th floor) and turn up the stereo full blast. Our room was located on the 4th floor so if we wanted to take a quiet afternoon nap or just enjoy the peaceful surroundings it was not possible(at least from 3 - 6:30pm). Besides that it was always very quiet and enjoyable. I would stay there again inspite of the noise level from the pool area.

The worst thing I can say about our trip was..........heat rash! However, I guess that really isn't your fault. We loved the hotel and the location. We will definitely go back to the Illusion!

The staff was amazing and very hospitable... ALEX, HAVIER AND ELEANA were amazing and made the vacation worth while, I would go back even though there are nicer hotels in the area....my only complaint is closet space not too comfortable other than that LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH AND MIKE'S DIVE SHOP IS THE BEST
