When the sun sets over Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, the ancient ruins at Chichen Itza come to life with a spectacular light and sound show.

Your pickup will come and get you from your resort in Cancun or the Riviera Maya, and from there you can sink into the soft seats of your air-conditioned comfortable minivan. You will arrive at the archaeological site with a good knowledge and background of Chichen Itza.

Sail straight past all the long lines to the private entrance where you will meet your expert guide. Journey around the site familiarising yourself with each particular structure. Perhaps the most impressive is the iconic Kukulkan Pyramid, a colossal structure boasting 365 steps representative of each day in the solar year.

Imagine yourself wandering through a thriving Mayan city amid the Temple of Warriors, as you gain a fascinating insight into this extinct empire.

You’ll be offered a welcome drink, and will also get to taste some delicious Mexican delicacies.

As the sun makes it’s dramatic descent into the horizon take your seat for the spectacular light and sound show.

The performance uses advances mapping projection techniques which illuminate the 1,500-year-old Kukulkan pyramid. Prepare to be blown away.

After the show concludes, return to your air-conditioned minivan and settle in for the journey back to Cancun or Riviera Maya.
