Top 10 Playa del Carmen Tours Under $100 USD
Everybody loves a bargain, right?
I know I would rather pay less for a tour and either save that money or use it for a night out.
And vacations are already expensive enough, so anywhere I can save a little on costs is more than welcome.
Plus, for the cost of doing a tour for the family of four, the price can easily match the amount of another plane ticket. Or two, depending on where you fly out from.
So how can you save? By checking out our list of some of the best priced Playa del Carmen tours.
Top 10 Playa del Carmen Tours Under $100 USD
The following excursions are great options at an affordable price.
From sea turtles and zip lines to even Xcaret Park, Cirque Du Soleil and horseback riding on the beach, they’re a great way to spend some time away from the hotel exploring the beautiful nature surrounding Playa del Carmen.
So without further ado and in no particular order…
1. Turtles & Tulum Tour
A visit to Tulum in the morning is not only a great way to start the day; it’s also the perfect opportunity to combine it with snorkeling with giant sea turtles in nearby Akumal for a reasonable price.
Plus, you get to see Mayan ruins without having to spend a full day of your vacation while doing so.
Afterward, it’s off to one of the Riviera Maya’s most stunning and quaint beaches in Akumal, from where you’ll enter into the tranquil Akumal Bay to swim with giant sea turtles.
Price: $89 USD; $69 USD kids (4-11)
Ages: All ages
Duration: 10-11 hours
Reservations: Book Turtles & Tulum
Important Update: As of February 15 2017, the Mexican Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily closed Akumal Bay, where this tour normally goes, to all guided snorkel activity until further notice. In the meantime, all Akumal snorkel tours will take place in the stunning Yalku Lagoon where there is still a 50% chance of seeing the beautiful and giant sea turtles.
2. Mayan Xtreme Tour
Nature, adrenaline, and adventure await you in both the jungle canopy as well as in the underground rivers of the Riviera Maya.
In other words, you can zip line, rappel, swim, and explore these mystical creations of nature for less than $100 USD.

4. Chichen Itza Tour
Who would think that such a long and complete tour would also be one of the most economical?
Think about it.
You not only visit a New Seven Wonder of the World for under a hundred bucks, you also get lunch and the chance to visit and swim in an amazing underground cenote (sinkhole)!
An awesome experience for all unless you’re adverse to going on such a long and somewhat tiring trip.
If that’s the case and you still want to see Mayan ruins, check out our next tour.
Price: $89 USD adults; $60 USD kids (5-11)
Ages: All ages
Duration: 10-11 hours
Reservations: Book Chichen Itza Tour
5. Sunset Sailing Activity
There are few moments that we get to experience in nature as breathtaking as watching the stunning orange-red hues of a sunset.
Lucky you, because on the Sunset Sail Playa del Carmen tour you can do so aboard a fancy catamaran as you sail along the Riviera Maya’s beautiful coastline.
Throw in and open bar and some snacks, and seaside this treat by Mother Nature is a no-brainer.

Ages: 8 and older
Duration: 2.15 hours
Reservations: Book Sunset Sailing
6. Cirque Du Soleil
You may not get the best seats in the house for under $100 dollars, not to mention dinner or champagne, but if you’re traveling on a budget but still don’t want to miss out on this fantastic show, you can purchase tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil’s Joya for a decent price.
Built in an intimate setting, you’ll still have a great view of all the action.
The Joya show by Cirque Du Soleil in the Riviera Maya is a spectacular show set in an even more stunning theater.
I do recommend you splurge for the dinner, just because it’s such a great addition to the experience, but you can still see the show for under a hundred bucks if you so prefer.

7. Snorkel Adventure Tour
Snorkeling is one of the best ways to come into contact with the amazing beauty lying beneath the surface of the Caribbean Sea.
It’s also something that almost everyone loves.
What’s so cool about this tour is not just its accessible price, but the fact that you get to snorkel at a reef as well as in a cenote and a lagoon.
Definitely worth the price of purchase!

Ages: All ages
Duration: 6-7 hours
Reservations: Book Snorkel Adventure
8. Horseback Riding Activity
Everybody loves horses. And turtles.
But you can’t ride turtles, so go with the second best alternative and go on a horseback ride along the beautiful Riviera Maya coastline on this fun equine adventure.
The horseback riding tour is a two-hour excursion riding along jungle paths, mangrove trails, and powdery white sand beaches overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
After your journey, you’ll have some time to enjoy snacks and drinks at the beach.

Duration: 2 hours

You can choose from the daytime activities or brave the dark night at Xplor Fire.
The later is available for less than a hundred dollars without transportation.
Whatever you choose, be prepared to get wet and have a blast.
Not for grandma and grandpa.
Price: Prices vary starting at $99 USD
Ages: 5 and older
Duration: 5 hours
Reservations: Book Xplor Fuego
10. Xcaret Park
This one makes the list but with a caveat.
That’s because while you can purchase Xcaret admission for under $100 dollars, that doesn’t include transportation or food.
However, you’re likely to be there all day with some many great activities such as snorkeling, paradise river, the butterfly pavilion, and the evening show.
As a result, you’ll probably wind up paying way more than if you get the upgraded package that includes food and drinks.
Just sayin’.
Be sure you check out our 5 tips for Xcaret Eco Park before you go!
Price: 989 USD; $49.50 USD kids (5-11)
Ages: All ages
