Isla Mujeres

From the north end of the beach in Cancun, you can see an island in the distance. This island is Isla Mujeres, the Island of Women. It is only about 4.3 miles (7 kilometers) long and 2130 feet (650 meters) wide.

A popular tourist day trip, it offers Mexican flavor on its shop lined streets, beautiful white-sand beaches and clear waters. You can also choose to rent a golf cart and tour the island, exploring hidden beaches or the many statues of woman for which the island is named.

There are a few hotels from 1* to 5* if you wish to stay in Isla Mujeres. It is a relaxing island, with friendly locals and beautiful beaches.

You can also opt for a day trip leaving Cancun towards the beautiful island.
