You know what they say, all good things must come to an end…
Most airlines ask you to arrive at least 3 hours to the flight.
If you have your transportation included in an all inclusive holiday, your pick up time will be programmed for you. If you are planning to take public transport to arrive to the airport, please allocate extra time in case of unforeseen circumstances (traffic, delayed transport etc.)
If you require transportation to the airport, we can help. We offer private or shared transportation to Cancun airport at affordable prices. For more information, see our airport transportation page or Contact Us.
1. Locate your airline counter, check in and get your boarding passes.
2. Pass security
3. Buy final souvenirs
4. Drink one last Mexican beer or Margarita
5. Wave goodbye and come back soon ~Hasta Luego~
There is a departure tax when exiting Mexico that is to be paid at the airport. Most US and Canadian airlines will include this tax, but you are best to confirm with your airline to see if it is included.
When you landed and passed Immigration, you were handed back a tourist card which allowed you access to the country. You will be required to hand in this card upon check in at the time of departure. Loss of this card can incur fees of approximately $50 dollars, so keep it in a safe place while on vacation.
You are leaving Mexico, but security regulations are much like North America. You will not be permitted to pass through with quantities of over 100ml. Ziploc bags are not provided so bring your own.
The quantities of alcohol, tobacco and goods will not be verified upon exiting Mexico, however, you may want to check with your country / state laws to see what is permitted upon entry.

Spent all your vacation time soaking up the sun and having fun adventures? You can do your shopping at the airport and although it may be a little more expensive that the shops around town, it is very convenient. Perfumes, t-shirts, handicrafts, duty-free goods, and other souvenirs are available once you have passed through security. You can buy alcohol here as well and store it in your carry on luggage seeing as you have already cleared security.
Restaurants and bars are available both before and after security. Please note that there are no smoking areas inside the airport terminal.
We hope to see you back in sunny Mexico soon!
